New Designs

Ah, summer's on its way - making it a great time for design and construction. Just ask our clients who are breaking ground for the Hill Center at Nashville West.

Or our friends at MTSU, where design continues for the university's new student center, a 180,000 square foot building that promises to help the university create more community for both on-campus students and commuters.

What's BIM got to do with it?

The first three images to the left represent recent Building Information Modeling (BIM) elevations and interiors developed to help clients visualize buildings and interiors during the design phase. This is one of many design tools we use.

Basically, BIM lets architects and project designers virtually construct the building. When used properly, this helps the entire team collaborate more effectively.

Street Dixon Rick has fully embraced this approach to design. Let us know if you would like to learn more.

ULI awards Excellence in Development

The Commons living-learning community project completed for Vanderbilt University recently won "Excellence in Development," a prestigious award. The Urban Land Institute's Nashville District Council honored the student housing project for design excellence, contribution to the community and environmental sensitivity. Yes, we were proud.

Founders Hall nearly finished

We are so pleased that our Juniata College clients decided to pursue LEED certification for Founders Hall, which is nearly complete. This LEED registered project will soon be ready for move-in day and they tell us they can't wait to see their new offices and classrooms. Sustainable design also means more daylight and more views.

Saving an historic building is about the most sustainable design there is.

At Street Dixon Rick we believe in an architecture of integrity and decency.
