History

The roots of Street Dixon Rick trace back to 1954, the year Robert Street opened his architecture practice in Nashville. His brother Ed joined him six years later to establish the firm of Street and Street Architects. For more than thirty years, the two enjoyed success with involvement in all aspects of architecture in Nashville, from contemporary to traditional, and from residential to collegiate. Early on, their office established an expertise in campus planning and religious projects long before others in this area. In 1990, seven years after he was hired, the Streets invited E. Baird Dixon to become a partner, changing the name of the firm to Street Dixon Street. The firm merged with Stephen Rick’s office in 1994 to form the present entity of Street Dixon Rick Architecture. The office maintains a small to medium size that allows the partners to be instrumentally involved in all our clients’ projects. The firm has received numerous awards and other recognition for its design excellence. Throughout its broad history, Street Dixon Rick Architecture has cultivated a reputation for quality of design, attention to detail, and high level of client service.
