Street Dixon Rick Architecture, PLC names Sybil McLain Marketing Director

Sybil McLain, Marketing Director, Street Dixon Rick Architects PLC NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Street Dixon Rick Architecture, PLC has selected Sybil McLain to fill the role of Marketing Director, said Baird Dixon and Steve Rick, firm principals.

"Sybil shares our goal of engaging clients through excellent design and understands how beautiful buildings enhance people's lives. She believes, like we do, that the relationships we build are based on trust and integrity and are just as important for our clients as the timeless designs we create," Rick said.

McLain had served as Vice President for Spaeth Communications' Nashville office, where she provided business communications and media relations training.

She explained what drew her to the firm. "There are three beautiful buildings with very different purposes where I felt a connection with the designers, with no knowledge of who they were in two instances. Abundant light, a sense of community and shared space, all these things provide a sense of spiritual renewal. These buildings seemed to be created just for the user," McLain said. "When I went to the website to research their work, I realized they were each designed or renovated by Street Dixon Rick. I'm very pleased to join the firm."

Two of the Nashville buildings are Second Presbyterian Church and The Martha Rivers Ingram Center for the Performing Arts at Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University. The third is Hodgson Hall, a renovated residence hall at the University of the South in Sewanee.

McLain plans to draw on her marketing experiences with SunTrust and American General Life and Accident Ins. Co. and from her consulting work with clients that included FedEx, Turner Construction and Methodist Healthcare in Memphis.

The firm will increase marketing in Middle Tennessee and in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky and Louisiana. Street Dixon Rick Architecture is in the midst of a multi-year plan for Vanderbilt University that embraces the U.S. Green Building Council's strict standards for green architecture. Additional clients include Harpeth Hall, MTSU, and First Presbyterian Church.
